How to choose the right polyester fabric for your projects?

Polyester fabric's weight affects how it's wavy or steady. Lightweight polyester fabric is ideal for projects requiring many wavy, such as t-shirts or tablecloths. Heavier polyester fabric is better suited for projects that require more steadiness, such as upholstery or slipcovers.

Polyester fabric knitting's structure affects how it feels when wearing or touching. Polyester fabric can be knitted in various ways, resulting in different textures. Smooth polyester fabric is ideal for clothing, while the rougher polyester fabric is better suited for home décor products. 

The color is also important. It depends on the usage or activities. Here are the tips:

3.1 Fashion industry, such as fashion clothing or cloth bags, any color is applicable.

3.2 Daily use, such as T-shirts or uniforms, should be an appropriate color to look polite and easy to wear.

3.3 Outdoor stuff, like streetwear, should be mid to dark colors. A lot better to cover up stains, sweat, and dirt than lighter colors. But actually, light color also works because Polyester fabric dries quickly and is easier to clean than natural fibers.

Polyester fabric has a different breathability level. Some polyester fabric has gone through chemical processing, making it as breathable as natural fabrics, suited for t-shirts, casual clothing, etc. On the other hand, some polyester fabric has a mechanical pile brushing process, making it good at retaining warmth, ideal for hoodies, blankets, sweaters, etc.

Circular knit fabric is made by interlocking loops of yarns with a knitting machine. This fabric is knitted in a horizontal direction, making it stretchy, soft, lightweight, and breathable, which is suitable for making t-shirts, sportswear, leggings, underwear, and fashion wear. 

Warp knit fabric is a fabric made by interlocking loops of yarn in a vertical direction. This fabric is less elastic but has more durability, weight, and drapability than circular knit fabric. It is commonly used to make polo shirts, jackets, sweatpants, and home textiles. The famous warp knit fabric is tricot.

Flannel fabric is incredibly soft and moisture-wicking. The fabric is usually napped, meaning that it undergoes a process of being brushed to create a smooth, fuzzy, and fluffy texture.

There are various fleece fabrics, such as polar fleece, sweater fleece, velour fleece, bouclé fleece, corduroy fleece, and vel-fleece fabric.

Terry loop fabric is characterized by its soft, plush feel and ability to absorb moisture.The fabric undergoes a process to make a looped pile on one or both sides. 

Due to its softness and moisture absorbent, terry loop fabric is an excellent choice for towels, bathrobes, blankets, jackets, soft toys, etc.

Pile fabric is a faux fur fabric made from polyester fiber. The fabric is known for its lightweight, softness, durability, and wrinkle resistance. It is often used to make fashion clothing, soft toys, cushion cases, and other textile products. 

The pile or boa family of fabrics includes poly boa, sherpa, and plush toys.

Printed fabric is a fabric with designs or patterns printed on it, can be printed on smooth surface or pile fabric. There are all sorts of patterns, such as floral, animal, cartoon, tie-dye, geometric, and many more. The design is directly printed onto the fabric, so it won't fade or wear off over time.

Due to its various patterns and designs, it is a favorite choice for making fashion wear, furniture, curtains, pillow cases, and unique t-shirts.

Special finishing is a fabric that has been treated with a chemical or mechanical process to give it a specific appearance or feel. This includes anything from adding waterproofing and stain-resistant properties, or creating a unique texture on the fabric.
